Major disasters, power-struggles, protests, wars...

Thankfully, we haven't really seen any of these at NEBOSH. But there's been a lot going on in the world around us since 1979.

So when we decided to look back at our own history, we thought we'd look at the wider-world too over the past three decades - from 'Who Shot JR' to Swine Flu.

Dip into our timeline in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and 2010s and you'll discover things like - when the first NEBOSH exams took place, who our 50,000th exam candidate was, and how we lost all of our computers to thieves, more than once!

You'll also find out what NEBOSH was like at the time of the Kings Cross Fire, the birth of the World Wide Web and Concorde's final flight.

And we haven't forgotten the most important bit. What our students have done.

Throughout this site you'll discover case studies revealing the stories behind some of our successful candidates. Things they've achieved, places they've been and what their NEBOSH qualifications have meant to them.

We hope these stories will inspire people to gain further NEBOSH qualifications, or maybe sit their exams for the first time.

Our students tell us having a NEBOSH qualification has given them a career, credibility, fulfilment, fun, a sense of achievement and enthusiasm for what they do.

That sounds a lot like what we set out to do for people 30 years ago.

And in the future, as we expand our qualifications and grow throughout the world, our aim is simple. That more people than ever enjoy the benefits of being NEBOSH qualified.
